Industrial heritage is fascinating on this combination hike and paddle through the steel mill lands of the Black River in Lorain County, OH.  Adventurers begin with a hike through piles of steel-making by products re-vegetating naturally and providing for interesting bird and wildlife sightings. Then, we climb into kayaks and paddle alongside the partly idled mill, witness the natural recovery from several restoration projects including fish shelves, wetlands and a rookery. Usually there’s a Bald Eagle sighting. Adventurers wrap up with an elegant picnic lunch.
